Lexington Area of Chamber to Host Summer Block Party July 7th!

The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Summer Block Party in Downtown Lexington from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will feature music from 10:00 to 3:00, sidewalk sales, Farmers’ Market, Meet the Candidates on the Courthouse steps, and a game of Town Ball that pits the Lexington Police Department against a local team of sluggers. The game will be played at the Goose Pond and starts at 3:00. Hotdogs, soda and water will be sold.

“This event is a chance for both the community and visitors to enjoy a fun day packed with activities and events, while supporting our local merchants,” said Lexington Chamber Executive Director Penny Grosso.

Organizers of the Block Party, which will have a baseball theme to coincide with the All Star Game, hope to draw visitors traveling to Kaufmann Stadium in Kansas City,
Two other local events are planned for July 7: Patriotic Day at the Anderson House from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Boy Scouts 318 Annual BBQ at Dave’s Country Market from 10:30 a.m. until sold out.
