The Growers of the Santa Fe Trail
From the 1820's goods were hauled on wagons and horses down the Old Santa Fe Trail through Lexington and northern Lafayette County. In 1933, 24 Highway was built to replace the mud roads of the Santa Fe Trail and roadside stands sprang up at every farm and orchard. It's been like that ever since.
We invite you to make the drive along this scenic, historic highway and discover for yourself the many farms, greenhouses, country markets and vineyards where you can purchase everything from fresh fruit and produce to bedding plants and Christmas trees, or sit back and relax with a bottle of wine at a vineyard and enjoy the good life.
