NAME

The name of this organization shall be the Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce. The office of the Chamber shall be located in Lexington. Missouri.

POLICY

1. The Chamber shall collect all monies accruing from any special event which it sponsors and pay all obligations incurred in the promotion of these events. Sponsorship of all events must have prior approval of the Board of Directors.
2. Chamber committees do not have authority to commit the Chamber without prior approval of the Board of Directors.
3. The Chamber shall endorse no products or firms.
4. The Chamber shall not, under any circumstance, give out credit or character information.
5. The Chamber shall not be used as a clearing house for employment services but shall refer all matters of this nature to the local office of the Missouri State Employment Service.
6. In recommending local firms, the Chamber shall furnish the names of all members engaged in the business being investigated provided such requests are legitimate.
7. Release of statements concerning policies or programs of the Chamber and its committee activities shall be authorized only through the President, Executive Director, or appropriate Committee Chairperson.

The object of the Chamber is to work in partnership with all sectors of the community combining, coordinating and focusing the efforts, skills and leadership expertise of the community’s businesses, professional organizations and individuals.

Through these partnerships the Chamber is dedicated to enhancing all areas vital to the economic growth, thus making Lexington the best possible place to live and work by Preserving the Past, Managing the Present and Investing in the Future.
